Hiriketiya is a horseshoe bay on the south coast that remained largely unknown until recently. Its bowl-shaped geometry creates a microclimate of calm, consistent surf conditions that have attracted surfers, yoga practitioners and slow travellers. The bay’s small scale and complete absence of commercial hotel development give it a quality that the more popular southern beaches surrendered years ago.
